Smithton School Library

LibraryThe mission of the Smithton School District Library Media Center is to provide students and staff access to information in a variety of formats, and to empower them to use this information effectively and efficiently.

Our goal is for every student to have a successful academic experience in the library.

The library is networked with full internet access. There are 10 computers available for use in the library. All computers have access to several online resources including World Book Online, SIRS, and MOREnet reference materials. All students need to have signed an Internet Acceptable Use Policy on file before using the Internet.

The library was built in 1995 and houses over 17,000 books and videos. The library also subscribes to multiple magazines, professional periodicals, and both a daily newspaper and a weekly newspaper in print form.

The library is equipped with DESTINY online, which provides automated cataloging and circulation. This provides home online access to our full library catalog.
